Absolute Black Granite, the name itself already describes it. It is a granite from Zimbabwe from which it takes its second name precisely Black Zimbabwe.
It is one of the most widely used and sought – after materials when absolute elegance is required in both internal and external architecture of buildings, villas, swimming pools, bathrooms, kitchens, and so on.
Absolute Black Granite is extracted from the quarries in Zimbabwe, from which it also takes its second name. It is not precisely a granite but it is technically better known as Absolute Black Gabbro or Black Zimbabwe. But I won’t be here to tell you the difference between a granite and a gabbro, just know that it consists of percentages of acidic and basic rocks contained in these two materials, that were however both formed by the solidification and cooling of magma below the earth’s crust.
Technical features of Absolute black or Black Zimbabwe granite
The main technical features of Absolute Black or Black Zimbabwe granite are:
- The colour is black, without veins, « cloud effects » or shades of any kind, but to the eye it shows a myriad of dots that vary from grey to black and which give it a uniform appearance.
- The hardness: it is an extremely resistant material and excellent not only for coverings but also for flooring and worktops that are more subject to shocks and wear.
- The gloss: it is obtained during the various stages of processing and the customer’s needs.
- Low absorbency to cooking oils and acids which makes it easy to clean
- The possibility of working this material in whole blocks or assembled slabs to achieve ambitious projects.
Use of Absolute Black or also called Black Zimbabwe granite
You can use Absolute Black or Black Zimbabwe granite as you like both indoors and outdoors.
For exteriors, Absolute Black or Black Zimbabwe granite is excellent for cladding the façades of villas and buildings, guaranteeing long – lasting resistance without the need for periodic renovation of the façade as is the case with other materials.
You can use it in the pool or poolside. In this case, we will be able to show you the ideal working to make it non – slip, but also to make sure that if you like to sit by the side of the pool with your legs hanging down in the water, you don’t ruin your bathing suit.
It is also used for external staircases. The right hammering will make the thresholds of the steps non-slip, but without losing the elegance of Absolute Black or Black Zimbabwe granite.
At home, however, you can have fun and range from the floor, to the kitchen top, to the dining or living room table, to the fireplace or the covering of an entire wall in the living area.
It all depends on how much you love black and the elegance you give to this colour. Of course I recommend it in spacious, large and bright rooms for two main and essential reasons:
- Firstly, an already small and dark room will look a little gloomy if you use a lot of black in itself, whether it is Absolute Black or Black Zimbabwe granite but also a simple decorative paint;
- Secondly, the natural brilliance and grey – black shades of Absolute Black or Black Zimbabwe granite are enhanced by natural daylight, during both sunny and cloudy days.
