When we have to renovate our house, our condominium and often also our villa, we ask for quotes of all kinds to obtain a lower cost among the different choices.
In this article, I will introduce you to another point of view for your cost, which only technicians, such as engineers, architects and more careful surveyors use.
Walking around, I see many buildings surrounded by scaffolding that are ready to be externally renovated and I realize, after the work has been done, that the old plasters are replaced by the new ones, without ever considering a marble cladding, or at least never in 99.9% of cases.
Sure… as I said before, they resort to savings.
We are in a time of crisis, we’re always listening to recession speeches and so we tend to spend less even on food.
AN INVESTMENT IN YOUR HOUSE USING MARBLE OR STONE
Having said that, I started to study the saving mentality more deeply, especially in the field of construction.
I took into account the costs that would be incurred if the plasters were replaced by marble or stone and indeed, the investment would be higher.
I call it an investment, because using marble is a good investment, a very good investment.
Perhaps a very overlooked fact is time.
Marble is very resistant over time and it has features whereby weather, heat, humidity and the passing years don’t affect them at all.
In fact, in recent years, many construction companies that build new houses, use marble as an external cladding, especially at the base of buildings, and if you pass close to them, you won’t even notice.
The use of marble and stone cladding is not only aesthetic even if the eye wants its part.
Stone is an excellent insulation material that ensures that moisture from the road does not damage the construction.
Another reason is certainly the ease with which to remove the dirt that, over time, settles on the walls and therefore requires less expense than painting the entire facade again.
The function of the stone on the facade of the houses is the same as the roofs of the terrace walls: to prevent rainwater and weather conditions from ruining the construction with moisture infiltration.
Nature also helps us to decorate our houses with colourful materials.
In the beginning, travertine was used to cover the walls up to a height of about one meter and halfway down the sidewalk, it had a white colour from the Roman quarries.
Today, thanks to the opening of international markets, the materials that can be used are many and of different colours and easy to find.
Combining the usefulness and beauty of natural stone leads to real economic savings, because as explained, the extra expense incurred today to renovate your house will pay for itself over time.
The innovative processes of the material can even give the feature of rustic to a classic wall of a small house in the countryside.
In fact, it is enough to use cobblestone to create a wall that will not need renovation once it has been laid.
The same goes for any finish you want to use: bush – hammering, ruling, antiquisation… each stone has multiple processes that can be carried out.
I still want to emphasize the reason for choosing a marble cladding: think of churches of older construction on whose vaults there are historical frescoes, the external walls are completely in stone.
Of course, right? How long would the frescoes have taken to ruin if they had not been protected from moisture and infiltrations?
Saving, beauty, durability are the first reasons to choose a marble cladding.
Bye! Stefania
